Will the Narendra Modi wave see Uttar Pradesh’s reign fall into the hands of the BJP, or will voters bring Akhilesh Yadav back in power? And is Mayawati being underestimated?

As voting in UP ended on Wednesday – after seven phases of polling spread over a month – all eyes are now set on counting day. On 11 March, voters will seal the fate of the three top contenders in UP – Modi (or BJP), Akhilesh (or the newly formed SP-Congress alliance) and Mayawati-led BSP.
