Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday sought to defend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s infamous “raincoat” jibe directed at Dr Manmohan Singh. Addressing a presser in Uttar Pradesh, Singh noted that “Dr. Manmohan Singh is revered by all” and that Modi’s comments did not bring “dishonour” to the notable economist.

Launching a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance, the former Physics lecturer said that the two parties are “weak” and thus carry the value of a
“minus each.”

Minus stands for weakness. Both parties are weak and hence Minus + Minus can only result in Minus.

Terming the BSP as “desperate” Singh accused the party of pandering to communal sentiments.

Further, Singh sought to woo farmers and the merchant community. He also promised to stem the rule of thugs that ‘plagues’ Uttar Pradesh.
