A lot of things happened on Saturday – like the BJP won in Uttar Pradesh (312 out of 403) and Uttarakhand (56 out of 70) assembly polls with a huge margin. And National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah went on a Twitter rant questioning the analysts who could not see the BJP tsunami coming in UP, even advising the opposition to forget 2019 and start planning for the 2024 general elections instead.

Abdullah's remarks don’t seem to have gone down too well with the Congress. At a press conference, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala took a swipe at the NC leader saying he should focus on 'state politics' rather than commenting on 'national issues'.

As an alliance, the Congress and the NC headed the state government in Jammu and Kashmir for five years before the BJP and the PDP partnered in an alliance to form their own coalition government.

Abdullah also offered some insights into the BJP’s win in UP.
