Sonia Gandhi’s Emotional Letter to the People of Raebareli

Congress leader Sonia Gandhi thanks the people of Raebareli after victory. Says, difficult times lie ahead.

In an emotional letter, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi thanked the people of Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh for helping her retain her seat in the Congress stronghold. Gandhi, who defeated the BJP candidate in the constituency, Dinesh Pratap Singh, by 1,67,178 votes, also thanked SP and BSP workers for their help while she campaigned.

“Not just Congress workers, but I am thankful to every party worker from the SP and BSP and Swabhiman Party, who helped me during campaigning. My life has been an open book before you. You are all my family. The courage that you have given me has been a true asset. I too, have tried to take care of all the needs of this huge family of mine.”

She further added that she tried to fulfil her official and personal responsibilities and will continue to ensure that she doesn’t let anyone down. The UPA Chairperson further added,

“I know we will face more difficult days ahead, but I am confident that the Congress will overcome all obstacles with your support and trust. No matter how long the fight is, I promise you that I will not hesitate to make sacrifices to keep up the Congress’ tradition of protecting the core values of India.”

Gandhi managed to win the Raebareli seat with 5,34,918 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
