Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday chastised Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari over his stand on full statehood to the national capital, and asked people to throw him out of their houses when he comes asking for votes.
Addressing a rally at Gokulpur Jan Sabha, Kejriwal said Tiwari has been telling people that full statehood cannot be granted to the national capital, which the AAP chief claimed was BJP's poll plank in the last election.
"Throw him out of your house when he comes to ask for your vote as now he says that full statehood cannot be granted to the national capital," he said.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi will contest from Kerala’s Wayanad seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, said party leader and former Union Minister AK Anthony.
Speaking at a rally in Andhra Pradesh’s Vijaywada, Rahul Gandhi said that special status for Andhra Pradesh is a commitment made by the country.
“It is not only a commitment made by Congress and Manmohan Singh ji, it's a commitment made by the country to Andhra Pradesh. It's our commitment that we'll give special status to Andhra Pradesh the moment we come to power in Delhi,” he said.
He also attacked PM Modi for not having fulfilled the commitment. “Mr Modi has been Prime Minister for 5 years and he has not fulfilled this commitment and frankly I am surprised that the parties in Andhra Pradesh aren't aggressively pushing for Mr Modi to give Andhra what it has been promised,” he said.
The BJP has released a list of four candidates in Gujarat for the Lok Sabha elections. One candidate for the by-election to Talala assembly constituency has also been announced, reported ANI.
The Maharashtra Congress has not followed the due procedure for selection of candidates for the next month's Lok Sabha polls, a senior party leader claimed.
As per the procedure, aspirants apply to the state party unit and the shortlisted names are forwarded to the central leadership after being interviewed, he said. "But, this proper process was not followed in the selection of candidates this time," the leader said on condition of anonymity.
He also said that around 40 percent candidates given tickets this time are those who switched over to the Congress from other parties in the last one year.

Alleging that Congress is demanding crores of rupees for its tickets, former AICC secretary and its incumbent member P Sudhakar Reddy on Sunday resigned from the party after writing a letter to Rahul Gandhi.
According to him, money influence increased in the allocation of tickets in Telangana in Assembly elections of 2018, MLC elections and Lok Sabha electios of 2019.
He also asserted that he had attempted to bring it to the notice of party leadership but had failed.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday urged opposition forces to set aside their "petty differences" and join hands to oust the Narendra Modi regime from the Centre.
Banerjee is slated to address a mega rally along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu in Visakhapatnam on Sunday evening.
Both Banerjee and Naidu have repeatedly advocated the coming together of opposition political outfits against the Modi regime in the coming general elections.

Speaking at a rally in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi said that farm loans in Andhra Pradesh will be waived if Congress is voted to power. Speaking about the minimum income guarantee scheme announced by the party recently, he said that the 'revolutionary' Nyay will change the face of India and will wipeout poverty from the country forever.
The Gujarat Congress unit has requested senior party leader Ahmed Patel to contest the next month's Lok Sabha poll from the state's Bharuch seat.
Patel, currently a Rajya Sabha member, won from Bharuch thrice, in 1977, 1980 and 1984, but lost to BJP's Chandubhai Deshmukh in 1991, after which he did not contest from the seat.
The BJP has never lost the seat since then.
"People want Patel to contest from Bharuch, because they believe this will help the Congress win the seat, and its positive impact will be felt on other seats in Gujarat as well," state party's election in-charge Rajiv Satav said.

Former AICC Secretary P Sudhakar Reddy, who resigned from the Congress earlier on Sunday has said he would meet BJP President Amit Shah in New Delhi in the evening and join the party.
He told PTI that he wanted to work under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the larger interest of the nation.
"I am confident Modiji will again become the Prime Minister. Being a worker of BJP I will concentrate on strengthening the party”, he said, reported PTI.
According to ANI, he has also written to PM Narendra Modi, stating, "I would be grateful to work under your leadership as one of the workers of Bharatiya Janata Party."
Congress has released a list of one candidate each, from Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir. Ghulam Ahmad Mir will be contesting from Anantnag constituency in J&K, while K Muraleedharan will be fighting the polls from Vadakara, in Kerala.

AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the "most corrupt" government since Independence, and along with BJP chief Amit Shah "ruined" the country in the last five years.
Addressing a rally in Vishakapatnam along with TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, he claimed that Modi-Shah duo "divided India on religious lines" in five years, what Pakistan could not do in 70.
The Delhi chief minister alleged that an emergency-like situation is prevailing in the country.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Sunday urged BJP's sister organisations to not support Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party chief Amit Shah during the national polls.
Addressing an election rally in Vishakapatnam, organised by Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, Banerjee said the BJP won't get a single seat in Bengal and the party won't cross the 125-mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha.
Taking on the BJP, the Trinamool Congress chief said the BJP will not get a single seat in Bengal.
Supporters of the BJP candidate from Balaghat Lok Sabha seat Dhal Singh Bisen and sitting MP Bodh Singh Bhagat clashed Sunday over the party's denial to renominate the latter.
Police had to resort to a mild baton charge in which no one was injured, said Kotwali police station officer Mahendra Singh Thakur.
He said Bhagat's supporters laid siege to the local BJP office between 11am to 3pm and locked it, after which they were baton charged.
Two days ago, the BJP had dropped Bhagat and replaced him with Bisen.
The Election Commission has directed the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana to make arrangements for conduct of elections in Nizamabad constituency, where 185 candidates including over 170 farmers are in the fray, using EVMs instead of ballot papers, news agency PTI reported.
After the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on 28 March, a total of 443 candidates remained in fray in Telangana, with Nizamabad topping the list at 185.
With the number of candidates higher than what the EVMs can accommodate, Telangana CEO Rajat Kumar had earlier said the polls will be conducted through ballot paper and the matter will be referred to the EC for approval.
Making a big poll promise, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has said there were 22 lakh vacancies in the government and if voted to power, his party will fill them in less than a year.
He said devolution of funds from the Centre to the state governments for healthcare, education and other schemes will be linked to these posts.
"Today, there are 22 lakh job vacancies in government. We will have these vacancies filled by March 31, 2020. Devolution of funds from the Centre to each state government for healthcare, education etc., will be linked to these vacant positions being filled," Gandhi said in a tweet on Sunday.
