Gujarat Assembly Election 2022, Phase 2 Polling Live Updates: Polling is underway for the second and the final phase of the 2022 Gujarat Assembly elections. The Election Commission stated that an average of 58.68 percent turnout was recorded on Monday till 5.00 pm.
Among those who voted in the morning are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, and Aam Aadmi Party CM candidate Isudan Gadhvi.
93 of 182 seats are being contested in the second phase.
A voter turnout of 63.14 percent was recorded in the first phase of elections held on 1 December.
The state, which previously witnessed a contest between the BJP and Congress, has seen the introduction of AAP as the third big player.

Approximately 58.68 percent polling recorded till 5pm in the second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections.
A voter turnout of 63.14 percent was recorded in the first phase of the elections, which were held on 1 December.
Polling has closed for the second phase of Assembly Elections in Gujarat. Of the total 182 assembly seats in the state, 93 had gone to polls today. The voter turnout till 3.00 pm was 50.51 percent.
As the second and final phase of Gujarat Assembly elections draws to an end on Monday, 5 December, various agencies are set to release the exit polls for the state shortly. Exit polls for Himachal Pradesh, which went to polls on 12 November, will also be announced soon.

Senior Congress member Pawan Khera took strong exception to the Prime Minister allegedly "holding a roadshow" on the day of polling in Gujarat.
In a press conference, he said, "The Prime Minister goes to cast his vote in Ahmedabad, but decides to do a 2.5-hour-long roadshow instead. Not only that, it is being covered by all media channels free of cost. Isn't this advertisement?"
"The government, the party, the administration, the election machinery, everything is rolled into one in Gujarat," Khera lamented, demanding the Election Commission to take action for the incident.
50.51% voter turnout recorded till 3.00 pm in the second phase of polling in Gujarat Assembly Elections, the Election Commission's app stated.

The Election Commission stated that an average of 34.74 percent voter turnout was recorded till 1 pm in the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly election.
"I appeal to people to step out, go to polling stations and vote. Choose whoever you want. But you will be able to demand answers from political leaders only if you vote. I expect AAP to win 51 plus out of 89 seats in the first phase and 52 plus seats in the second phase," Gadhvi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
PM Modi's mother Heeraben, who turned 100 this year, cast her vote in Raysan village near Gandhinagar city, PTI reported.
Isudan Gadhvi, the chief ministerial candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat, cast his vote in Ahmedabad on Monday.
The Election Commission stated that an average of 19.17 percent voter turnout was recorded till 11 am in the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly election.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi urged voters on Monday to bring about "parivartan (change)" in Gujarat.
"It is a humble request to every citizen of Gujarat to participate in this 'parivartan utsav (festival of change)'. Do vote today," Kharge tweeted in Hindi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his son and BCCI secretary Jay Shah, along with other family members, cast their votes in Ahmedabad on Monday.
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, who served as the first female chief minister of Gujarat, cast her vote in Ahmedabad.

"The festival of democracy has been celebrated with great pomp by the people of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. I want to thank the people of the country. I also want to congratulate Election Commission for conducting elections peacefully," PM Modi was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The Election Commission stated that an average 4.75 percent turnout was recorded on Monday in the first hour of voting in the second phase of Gujarat Assembly elections.
Ahead of casting his vote, BJP and Patidar leader Hardik Patel asserted that his party has "maintained law and order and has worked for the development of Gujarat."
"I appeal to everyone to vote. BJP has maintained law and order and has worked for the development of Gujarat. I want all Gujaratis to vote for BJP. We should exercise our power to vote as the election is the beauty of democracy," Patel was quoted as saying as by news agency ANI.

For the second phase, the Election Commission has set up 14.895 polling stations and 26,409 booths. Almost 36,000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are being used, and approximately 29,000 presiding officers and over 84,000 polling officers are engaged to ensure smooth voting.
