Sitting MP from Nandyal constituency in Andhra Pradesh SPY Reddy died after prolonged illness at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday night, 30 April. He was 68.
Reddy was hospitalised early this month.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Nandyal in 2004 and 2009 as Congress candidate. In 2014, he won the seat as YSR Congress nominee, but jumped into the ruling Telugu Desam soon after the election.
As the TDP leadership denied him the Nandyal ticket this time, Reddy joined the Jana Sena Party and fought the 11 April election from the hospital bed.

The Election Commission on Tuesday barred BJP's Gujarat unit chief Jitu Vaghani from campaigning for 72 hours for using “intemperate and abusive language” at an election meet.

Odisha recorded an overall 73.08 percent polling in four phases, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar said.
Elections were held for the 21 Lok Sabha and 146 Assembly seats in Odisha in four phases.
The Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency recorded the highest 78.89 percent polling, while the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat recorded the lowest 59.60 percent.

Accusing the BJP of indulging in horse trading, AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged that seven of his party MLAs in the national capital have been offered Rs 10 crore each to join the saffron party.
