Union Minister from Bihar, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, has been caught on camera violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and misbehaving with Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) KK Upadhyay in the state’s Buxar district.
This was after the SDM stopped the minister’s convoy as it had more cars than the number allowed by the MCC.
In a video shared by news agency ANI, Choubey can be seen having a heated exchange of words with Upadhyay.
He can be seen asking the SDM not to “create a scene”.
When the SDM insisted on following the orders of the Election Commission, the minister got angry and said “thik hai toh mujhe jail bhejiye, le chaliye jail" (Then take me to jail).
When the SDM further said that he only had orders to seize the cars (and not the minister), Choubey replied saying, “Gaadiya meri hai ye zabt nahi ki jaa sakti" (You cannot seize my vehicles).
Upadhyay later said that action will be taken against Choubey, reports India Today.
“There was no permission for vehicles but it has been reported that there were many vehicles parked here at Zila Maidan. There were about 30-40 vehicles in the convoy and action will be taken over it,” he said.
