RJD To Contest 19 Seats, Cong 9 In Bihar, Announces Tejashwi Yadav

The RJD leader said the mahagathbandhan was “fighting to save democracy.”

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday, 29 March announced the seat-sharing agreement for the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar.

The RJD will contest from 19 seats, announced Tejashwi, the Congress from 9 including Patna Saheb where Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has been fielded by the BJP. The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) will contest from 5 seats.

“RJD will contest on 19 seats including Bhagalpur, Banka, Madhyapura, and Darbhanga,” Yadav said, adding that Former JD(U) president and NDA convener Sharad Yadav will contest from Madhepura, JD(U) MLA Sarfaraz Alam from Araria and RJD Chief Laloo Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti from Pataliputra.

Tanvir Hasan from the RJD will be contesting in Begu Sarai were Kanhaiya Kumar, former JNU Student Union President will also contest on a CPI ticket.

The Congress, on the other hand, is expected to welcome sitting MP from Patna Sahib, Shatrughan Sinha, into its fold on 6 April after he met Rahul Gandhi earlier.
