Addressing the media over the rising number of cases in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the situation in the capital is “under control” but added that there is no room for complacency.
The statement comes at a time when Delhi has been reporting more than 2,000 cases for the last four days.
According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are currently 8,46,3953 active cases across the country, while 31,07,223 patients have been discharged. The total number of cases in the country have crossed the 40 lakh mark.

Over 2,500 new cases have been reported in Telangana, taking the total number of cases to 1,38,395 in the state.
India on Saturday, 5 September, reported 86,432 new cases of coronavirus, taking the tally in the country pas the 40 lakh mark. The death toll increased by 1,089 to 69,561.
718 positive cases have been reported in Rajasthan taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 88,515 including 71,990 recoveries.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain says that they have more than doubled the testing in Delhi.
“We have more than doubled the testing in Delhi, in the last week. 37,000 tests were conducted yesterday. Positivity rate is close to 8%. The case fatality rate is around 0.5%. The situation in Delhi is under control,” says Jain.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the COVID-19 situation in the capital is completely under control, but there is no room for complacency.
Addressing the press, Kejriwal highlighted that the case fatality rate in the capital is 1 percent which is lower that the national average and the recovery rate stands at 87 percent.
He further added that the number of COVID cases are more in Delhi because testing is more.
