Dear Modi Ji,
After the announcement of the demonetisation policy, the daily life of every individual – from a soldier to a poor man – has been thrown out of gear.
We all were gung ho about the new scheme but after witnessing the manner in which it was implemented, it made me question the Modi government’s ability.
Yes, we do want action against black money, terror funding, counterfeiting of currency but not at the expense of death, starvation, loss of workforce, trade, etc. The move certainly created an undeclared financial emergency like situation where 86 percent of our currency was withdrawn.
The BJP recently equated standing in bank/ATM queues to ‘nationalism’, but I feel that it is ‘anti-nationalist’ of the BJP to make the entire country wait in long lines every single day since this policy’s declaration.
They are ignoring the voice of its own citizens to cover up the implementation failure of the note ban policy.
Our valiant soldiers guard the borders and we are thankful to them for their sacrifice, but comparing their dedication to standing in those serpentine queues is simply irrational of the Modi government’s supporters.
The shoddy implementation has led to the deaths of more than 50 innocent people. Is this how a government functions in a democracy? What happened to our Right to Life? On what basis and under what law can the government not allow one to withdrawal money from their saving /current account ?
A strong government in a democracy is the one which takes every decision in the interest of its people. This unplanned move by the BJP government has had a negative impact on almost every sector in our country.

Mohd Razzak Ali Khan
