It raked in approximately Rs 7.2 crore on day 1 and is on its way to sprinting towards a historic weekend, internationally.
The film managed to overtake the Manoj Bajpaye and Sidharth Malhotra starrer spy thriller, Aiyaari, which earned about Rs 3.25 crore.
Black Panther follows T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king.
