At least 28 people were killed in an airstrike that hit a refugee camp in northern Syria near the border with Turkey, according to pro-opposition activists.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said the camp for the internally-displaced near Sarmada, in the northwestern Idlib province near the Turkish border, was struck on Thursday afternoon.
An eyewitness speaking in footage made available by the Thiqa News pro-opposition media group said at least 70 bodies had been removed, but The Associated Press had no independent means of verifying this toll.
It was not clear who carried out the airstrike.
The camp is home to hundreds of people who have fled from the surrounding Aleppo and Hama provinces.
