The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief, Badruddin Ajmal, the perfume baron, could play the king-maker in the tug-of-war between the ruling Congress and challenger BJP to form the next government in Assam.
In an exclusive interview to The Quint, Badruddin said that the incumbent Congress government, led by Tarun Gogoi, has not done anything for the people of Assam. “The Congress government is marked by failures and the state lags behind on development,” he said.
In the interview, he also denied the existence of a secret pact with the Congress party, and ruled out the possibility of any alliance with the BJP, quoting vast ideological differences.
