The family of Sidharth Sharma, the 32-year-old marketing consultant who died in a hit-and-run case earlier this week, has released CCTV footage of the accident to prove that the offending driver was over-speeding.
The accused was with a group of six
other friends, celebrating the end of their exams. He was arrested under
laws for underage offenders, and was later released on bail.
Right after the accident, the boy and his friends abandoned the vehicle.
Social activist, Neelam Katra comments on this and says the country has weak laws which need to be changed.
Prem
Ranjan Sharma, the victim’s father, said proper investigation of the
case is yet to happen, and that the law is being manipulated by those in
power.
Friends and family of the victim have organised a candlelight vigil to honour his memory and to demand justice.
