(This article was first published on 7 November, 2015. It has been republished from The Quint’s archives in the wake of the Supreme Court’s order to ban firecrackers in Delhi-NCR for Dussehra and Diwali.)
We at The Quint hate crackers. And we want you to hate them too.
Every year we hear about campaigns for a cracker-free Diwali, pleading to cut down on smoke and noise. This year, we want to give it another shot and are really hoping to make this count.
As part of our #PatakhaHayeHaye campaign, we bring you our theme song – Patakha Haye Haye, sung by Vikram Venkateswaran. Check it out and spread the message.
To get you going, here’s how it goes:
“Dhoom dhadaka haye,
Shor sharaba haye,
Dhoom dhadaka aaye,
Koi atom bomb jalaye,
Arey nani yaad ajaye,
Mubarakbaad, Dua-e-qaraar,
Kuch bhi bol na paaye...”
