Gasp! So much Benares. The indigenous Benarsi weave got a refreshing makeover at the hands of 16 of India’s top designers including Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, JJ Valaya and Gauri and Nainika. They all got together and interpreted the fabric in a striking new fashion at the Grand Finale of the Amazon India Fashion Week.

Under the theme ‘Born in Benaras’, the finale saw Benarsi silk skirts, dresses and maxis, all giving the traditional fabric an edgy makeover.
