Here’s All You Need to Know About the Bentley Bentayga

Bentley is known for making some of the most luxurious cars in the world, and the Bentayga is just that.

The love for SUVs is growing by the day – something that everybody is aware of, even luxury car makers like Bentley. They first showcased the EXP 9 F concept during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and unveiled the production-ready model during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, called the Bentayga.

The Bentayga is powered by a mammoth 5950cc, Twin Turbo charged W12 engine that puts out 600 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque and comes connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent All-Wheel Drive (AWD). What all this power means in terms of speed is that the car can go from a standstill to 100 km/h in a matter of 4.1 seconds, and attain a top speed of 301 km/h. Despite weighing 2422 kg (kerb) it is capable of towing up to 3,500 kilos.

According to Bentley, the W12 engine is the world’s most technically advanced 12-cylinder engine and delivers 5-90% torque within 1.1 seconds.

For the first time in a Bentley, the Bentayga comes fitted with start-stop technology. There are 4 driving modes available, too – Comfort, Sport, Custom, and a mode called ‘Bentley’. All of these modes alter engine response, suspension dampening and steering response to offer the driving experience needed on different kinds of terrains.

The Bentyaga has Active Roll Control, which electronically reduces body roll when the car is turning. The gadgetry doesn’t end there, as you also get a 1950-watt amplifier, a 300-watt sub-woofer and twenty speakers inside the car.

The centre console comes with an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system that supports voice-control. The rear headsets features two 10.2 inch tablets, which can be used as handheld devices too, and come with internal memory which is expandable via Micro SD and USB slots.

The handcrafted interiors can be customised to the buyer’s taste – there’s a choice of four veneers and 15 shades of leather hides on offer. The Bentayga supports Apple Car Play and has a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot feature as well.
