Tata Motors took its own time with the launch of the Tiago, previously known as the Zica, as the launch date was postponed a few times.
Nervetheless, their launch has managed to create quite a buzz as the Tata has priced the car very aggressively at a starting price of Rs 3.2 lakh for petrol and Rs 3.94 lakh for the diesel variant (all prices ex-shoroom, Delhi).
The Tiago is a clear break from the traditional Tata shapes and follows a new ‘impact’ design language. The front grille extends all the way to the headlamps, and the tail lamps are no longer vertical.
The engines are brand new too. There’s the 1.2-litre petrol engine called the ‘Revotron’ and the 1 litre ‘Revotorq’ diesel engine.
At this price tag, the car goes up against the like of Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
