Fiat recently introduced some performance muscle in India, with a 160 PS powered– Fiat Abarth 595 Compitizione.
Priced at Rs 29.85 lakh ex-showroom New Delhi, it’s more of a connoisseurs car, that is based on the iconic Fiat 500.
However, the company that has hung around in India for a while now, plans to get some performance DNA in the passenger car segment as well.
Fiat will be launching the Fiat Punto Evo Abarth in India by Diwali 2015. Most of the car will be made in India, unlike the Abarth 595.
The Fiat Punto Evo Abarth gets Abarth badges and paint jobs on the radiator grille and OVRM’s (Outside Rear View Mirrors), so that the car looks aggressive and sportier.
The inside is pretty much the same and as expected, with any sports version of a road car, there will be sports pedals.
The Fiat Punto Evo Abarth will churn out 145 bhp, that will definitely make it one of the most powerful hatchbacks in India.
The car will feature a 1.4-litre T-Jet MultiAir 4-cylinder petrol engine that will deliver 200 Nm of torque.
The Punto Evo Abarth will have a top speed of 195 Km/h, Fiat is trying their best to price the car under Rs 10 lakh.
Fiat has also been working on an Avventura Abarth, that will be launched after the Punto Abarth hits Indian roads.
