The recent developments in the Net Neutrality case in India seem to have dumbfounded the Silicon Valley folks. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) gave its verdict in support of Net Neutrality that effectively puts Facebook’s Free Basics future in jeopardy.

And now, one of Facebook’s board of directors and Silicon Valley venture capitalist (VC), Marc Andreessen has slammed India for its lack of understanding on the matter. Here is the tweet that enraged India.

The statement, considered disrespectful by many, perhaps highlights Marc’s difficulty in understanding Indian sentiments. There are however, a few like Benedict Evans, who came out in support of Marc’s stance on Net Neutrality. Unsurprisingly, Evans works in Marc’s firm.
