Reliance Jio Infocomm, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries on Sunday launched its 4G services for its employees in what is seen as a soft launch before these services are expected to be rolled out early next year.
The launch was attended by Reliance Groups employees from over 1072 centres across the world.
The event was presided over by RIL chairman and managing director, Mukesh Ambani who interacted with the company’s employees and shared their vision to provide fast-speed internet connectivity in India to all. Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Ambani said:
India and Indians cannot afford to be left behind in this new world. India is ranked around 150 in the Internet and mobile broadband penetration out of 230 countries, Jio is conceived to change this. 1.3 billion Indians cannot be left behind as the world enters a new era. We have the youngest population in the world. Give them the tools. Give them the skills. Give them the environment. They will surprise us.Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director, RIL
The mega launch was attended by who’s who of the film industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, who tweeted this image along with the chairman of RIL Group. Musical maestro, AR Rehman made it to the event who sang his Grammy Award-winning track Jai Ho from Danny Boyle’s movie, Slumdog Millionaire.
This is what Reliance Jio promises for internet users on mobile in India.
