In-ear headphones come inside almost every smartphone box these days, but not all of them give you a balanced sound experience that you deserve. That’s why many people buy in-ear headphones that can cater to their respective needs.

Bose recently launched their new in-ear headphones, the SoundTrue Ultra, in India. At Rs 11,138 they are not the most affordable headphones, but do they make sense for consumers who look for quality sound and reliability?

What’s Good?

Bose is known for making quality audio gadgets and with these they leave no stone unturned. For any audiophile, the Bose sound is an experience and the SoundTrue Ultra headphones deliver on the money.

They are one of the most comfortable in-ear headphones. If you wish to have a movie or a music marathon with these, your ears won’t ache at all. On the headphones, you get Bose’s StayHear Ultra tips that conform to the shape of your ears and spread contact evenly.

Plus, these headphones are super-small and lightweight at just 17 grams. The tips come in three sizes, so you can pick the one that fits best. The result of such engineering is that they fit and adjust inside any ear shape and they stay in their place even if you go on a run with them.

The headphones come with a compact carrying case which is nicely stitched case as well.

Everything about these in-ear headphones is premium yet subtle. They deliver a clean, well-balanced sound, irrespective of any music genre. Whether you like bass heavy music or classic, the Bose experience on these headphones is just exceptional.

We used the headphones with an Apple iPhone 6s and a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and they did not disappoint us. We had a similar experience with the headphones on a MacBook Pro and the iPod. You can crank up as much volume as you want, these headphones will deliver a balanced sound every single time.

With the use of a T-shaped cable splitter, Bose has addressed the cable noise issues which makes them less likely to come in contact with the body during movement. Plus they are easy to untangle.

The in-line remote and microphone are compatible with select Apple devices and most Android products and work well for making cell-phone calls.

What’s Bad?

At Rs 11,138 the Bose SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones are not as affordable as we would have liked them to be. An under Rs 10,000 pricing would have been apt for these. But when do the good things in life ever come cheap?

They are not completely noise cancelling, but had they been, the company would have priced them even higher.
