Twitter had, a few months ago, announced its plans of threaded replies to tweets. Starting Thursday, 21 February, the company has opened a public test of the new interface, 9to5Mac reported.

The company is also inviting all users to sign up for the test. The tests, as 9to5Mac reports, have been going on since August 2018 and the initial tests saw complaints regarding the new interface. The threaded reply's interface does conversations somewhat like Reddit.

According to The Verge, the new interface is designed to make it easier to see more of what people are saying.

Replies from the original sender of the tweet appear in grey while replies from people you follow show up in blue. The reply interface also doesn’t give anything about the tweet – number of likes, comments, retweets. One has to click through the replies to see such stats.

"Twitter is exploring new ways to make the conversations you care about easier to read, understand, and join. Want to see what we’re working on and share your feedback? Apply to be part of our Twitter Prototype Program," the company was quoted by 9to5Mac as saying.

Twitter has not yet given out anything on when the feature will start rolling out properly.
