Mohammed Shami’s international comeback will have to wait a bit longer after the fast bowler injured his hamstring during a warm-up game on Saturday. The news has been confirmed by the BCCI’s medical staff.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been called-up to replace him.

Shami sustained a Grade II injury to his left hamstring, which is expected to restrict him from playing active cricket for another 4 to 6 weeks. The fast bowler was making a return to the arena after nearly 9 months out of action. He carried a knee injury throughout the World Cup but immediately after was bedridden for almost two months.
