India’s shooter Jitu Rai qualified for the final of the 10m Air Pistol event at the Rio Olympics after finishing at the sixth place in the qualifying round, while Gurpreet Singh bowed out of the tournament after finishing 20th.
Jitu Rai made it to the final with a score of 98 in his final series. Rai, looked like he was heading home after a bad start but he clawed back with seven tens in a row. The Lucknow lad was placed ninth before the last three shots. Rai registered scores of 96, 96, 98, 96, 96, 98.
Gurpreet notched 99 in two series but shot below par in the other four series. The 28-year-old registered scores of 94, 96, 93, 99, 99, 95.
