French investigators have not yet established whether the truck driver who killed at least 84 people in Nice on Thursday had connections with radical Islamists, said French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

“We have an individual who was not known to intelligence services for activities linked to radical Islam,” said Cazeneuve. He also denied that the attacker was inspired by jihad.
