The Delhi High Court has reserved its order on the bail plea of Kanhaiya Kumar till 2 March. The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union President was arrested on 9th February on sedition charges.

During the court hearing, Kanhaiya’s Lawyer Kapil Sibal told the High Court that he was there only to break the fight. “He opposes any anti-national slogans & didn’t raise them,” he added.

The Delhi government has asked the court to give bail to Kanhaiya as there is no evidence against him.

Meanwhile, Umar Khaled’s and Anirban Bhattacharya’s police custody has been extended for another day.
