Trinamool Congress on Saturday issued a statement to distance itself from its senior leader Md. Sohrab, whose son is involved in the death of the IAF officer Abhimanyu Gaud on Wednesday in Kolkata. The party spokesperson Derek O’Brien while talking to ANI said, “Neither driver nor his father is related to TMC, law of the land will punish the culprit soon.”
The man behind the wheels is not yet known, but it is suspected to be Ambia Sohrab, son of the TMC leader of Burrabazar constituency. O’ Brien further said, “It was a reckless demon of a driver, car owner has no connection with TMC.”
The party in its statement said, “The Party has no connection with Sohrab.” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday sounded strict and assured that appropriate action would be taken against the guilty.
