Even the most skilled social media analysts can’t always predict the stories that will really strike a chord with internet users, the ones that will merit pages of heated, rambling discussion and debate.

One such story is that of mechanic Raees Mohammad Makrani, a 44-year-old resident of Madhya Pradesh who studied only up to class 12, and has invented a car that runs on water.

Water and petrol both are non-renewable resources, so doesn’t help much from the environmental perspective.

If cars now start operating on water, our already scarce water resources will further diminish and in a few years we won’t have water to drink until and unless it can be recycled back. I appreciate the man’s work but it’s not at all an eco-friendly invention and should not be promoted.
