BJP MLA Ravindra Chavan Uses Pig Analogy for “Dalit Upliftment”

  • A video showing BJP MLA from Dombivli Ravindra Chavan using analogy of pigs while talking about “upliftment of the Dalits” has gone viral on social media, prompting the National Congress Party to demand his apology.

  • Narrating a story on Abraham Lincoln who had picked up a piglet from a drain and cleaned it, he analogized, “Similarly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis too are working hard to uplift Dalits.”

  • The NCP organised a “naming ceremony” of a pig in Thane and named it `Ravindra Chavan’.

    “My statement has been distorted,” Chavan claimed, insisting that an edited version is being of the video is being circulated.
