A day after arms and ammunition were seized from his office, Bacha Rai, principal of Bishun Rai Intermediate college in Bihar’s Vaishali district, was booked under the Arms Act on Monday. He is the alleged kingpin of the toppers’ scandal in the Bihar Intermediate examination.
A case has been filed against him at Bhagwanpur police station for illegal possession of weapon at his office, Bhagwanpur police station in-charge Vikram Acharya said. During raids at the college premises, a country-made pistol and five cartridges were recovered from the principal’s office, he added.
The Vaishali police will seek his remand for interrogation in connection with registration of the case against him under the Arms Act, he said.
