Pakistan’s Islamabad High Court has refused to provide voice samples of the suspects in the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai. The Pakistan government had requested the court to provide voice samples of the masterminds and six other suspects in the case, according to a report by Pakistan daily Dawn.

Indian government had provided intercepted phone interactions between the suspects by Indian intelligence agencies.

The prosecution had asked the high court to provide voice samples to compare them with the ones sent by India.

If the samples matched, they could be used as evidence in the case, according to the Dawn report.

The report also claims that in September 2012, two similar cases were dismissed by the Islamabad High Court as the prosecution had failed to show up for the hearing.

One of the two dismissed petitions asked for voice samples of the accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks case.
