On Friday morning, Ajay Devgn tweeted out the poster of his upcoming film Sons of Sardaar: The Battle of Saragarhi.
Speaking to Times of India about the film, Ajay Devgn said:
I am a proud member of the Punjabi community and the Saragarhi war touched a chord. It epitomised the strength and valour of the Sikh community. I salute the 21 Sikhs who were the heroes of this mission and I want to show their bravery on screen.”Ajay Devgn
Unlike the first Son of Sardaar, which was an out and out comedy, this one seems to be a serious period drama. Devgn is currently busy with his directorial venture Shivaay, which releases on Diwali this year. The script of the new Sons of Sardaar is 60% ready and Devgn wants to mount the production on an epic international scale with a budget that could easily go into over a hundred crore.
