Hrithik Roshan tweeted that he missed the the horrific Istanbul attack by only a few hours when he took an early flight out. The actor was returning from Madrid after attending the IIFA Awards and took an extended trip with his sons to Spain and Africa before coming back home.
He had a connecting flight to Mumbai via Istanbul which got delayed and he got stuck at the airport. Instead of waiting it out, he took an economy class flight and left the Istanbul airport just a few hours before three suicide bombers opened fire on civilians killing 36 and injuring 147.
The actor also thanked the kind staff at the Istanbul airport for being helpful and expressed solidarity for the lives lost.
