When he discussed the various ‘sacrifices’ he made, Khan put women in the same list as cigarettes and alcohol.

Salman Khan followed a gruelling diet and fitness regime to bulk up for his role as a wrestler in Sultan. Now, with less than a month to go for the film’s release, he’s talking about it.

In one such interview, though, he might have put his foot in his mouth. And if true, he might have put off some of his fans.

In an interview published on SpotboyE, the Bollywood star apparently said that all the weightlifting – and training for his role – made him feel like a “raped woman”.

I’d have to lift the same 120-kilo guy 10 times for 10 different angles. And likewise, get thrown that many times on the ground. This act is not repeated that many times in the real fights in the ring. When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight. I would eat and then, head right back to training. That couldn’t stop.

And Khan did not just stop at that. He went on to say women were a vice – just like alcohol. He told SpotboyE:

I have left everything one by one. When it was between coffee and cigarettes, I quit coffee. Between cigarettes and drinks, I quit the stick. Between drinks and women, I have chosen women. Ab iske baad duniya chhod do! But I will never quit movies.

The interview could not be verified in a video or audio. However, Twitterati promptly expressed their shock (and horror) at Khan’s callous comparison to a rape victim.

Some ardent, die-hard fans defended his demeaning statement.

Others pinned it on his driver, just like he did when he was being tried for manslaughter.
